Your Viewing - And The Framing Options Available

To help customers understand what happens at your viewing, and how framed portraits are crafted to produce stunning results, this page has been put together for your assistance.

Once your portrait session has taken place, the best images will be carefully selected and edited, and put into a slideshow, ready for your viewing. The viewing is usually done in the family home, just a few days after your session.

You'll be able to choose your favourite images, which are available in a wide range of display options. Using our bespoke software, you'll be able to see exactly how your framed images will look on the walls of your home, to the correct size. If you have particular places in mind where you'd like to display your portraits, please let us know in advance.

Once you've chosen the layouts and sizes for your images, we can then help you design your frames, creating a truly bespoke, one-off range of portraits that are personal to you. A wide range of options are available, and, using the latest internet technology, these can be viewed in the comfort of your own home.

Once you have chosen your frame and mount options, these are sent away to a specialist framing company that only supplies professional photographers, and who have been carefully selected as a supplier of choice.

The framing journey begins with our suppliers printing your portraits on high quality photographic paper. Whether you choose satin, ultra white or fine art paper, each day at the lab begins with printers being calibrated, to ensure that print quality, ink density and colour rendition is perfect in every print. Quality of this calibre is simply not available on the high street.

Once the prints have been printed, each one is checked for quality, and is then individually dry mounted. This avoids warping over time, and ensures that the print will remain stable.

Each mount is individually cut to it's exact size, using high precision, computerised mount cutting machines. It's at this stage that "V" grooves can be cut into the top mount, if desired. This produces a pleasing finish to the edge of each mount. Single, double, and triple mounts are available, in addition to other bespoke, hand-made options.

Every frame is cut individually to it's exact dimensions: each component is then pinned and glued together, to form the frame for your portraits.

Each mitre is checked for quality, ensuring that each one is absolutely perfect.

Framed edges receive individual attention, ensuring that corners, in addition to mitres, are accurate every time.

Each mount is individually signed, providing both a mark of quality, and assurance that your art has been produced by a Master Photographer.

The dry mount, print and glass are sealed together, providing a protective, impermeable barrier that will protect your artwork against temperature variations for many years to come.

The individual components are then introduced into the frame, ensuring a perfect fit every time.

These are carried out to guarantee 100% accuracy and quality. A backing board, made to the exact dimensions of the back of the frame, holds the components firmly in place.

The backing board is held in place using special pins that go into the wood of the frame.

The reverse of the frame, and backing board, are sealed together, and bump pads are fitted to the bottom of the frame to ensure that your portraits do not mark the walls of your home.

Each portrait is supplied with picture cable, which is twisted to provide additional strength and fitted to heavy duty "D" rings, screwed into the frame.

A care label, describing the best way to care for your portraits is included on the reverse of each frame.

Each framed piece of wall art will be hand delivered to you, each on in it's own presentation box, which is perfect if you are giving portraits as a gift.

My aim, for every customer, is to provide total satisfaction, and to create unique, personal and individual portraits that you and your family will be completely thrilled with.

Quite simply, I am not going to "just take some pictures,” provide an online gallery and then supply a CD of chosen images as much more time, effort and quality goes into the portraits that I create. Ultimately, your commission is your instruction for me to create future heirlooms, so that you and your family can cherish your portraits for many years, and generations, to come.

Help with planning your portrait experience, choosing locations, timings and clothing for your session, designing portraits to suit your home, right through to personally delivering your framed images is all included with the service offered.

This bespoke service is offered for discerning clients, providing something rare and precious in today's world of the so-called selfie, where photographs are snapped on a mobile, quickly forgotten, and left on a 'phone that might get lost, damaged or will simply be obsolete in just a few short years.

Every image you select to invest in is hand edited, and will be shown to you in a dedicated viewing and ordering appointment for you to choose and order your favourites. During this appointment, you'll be able to choose the framing and finishing options for each of your portraits, which will be designed personally for you and your family.

Every session, every family, and every day is different in the world of location portraits. So why not click here to read our customer stories and to find out what customers say.
